A positive, healthy mind and body are the foundation for a positive and healthy learning environment. Thus, we support students, staff and families with a variety of well-being programmes and initiatives to feel healthy, safe and balanced.
Movement is at the core of child development! Children will have the opportunity to be physically active inside and outside the classroom, for example during weekly physical education sessions, outside on the playground or as part of their daily routines.
We believe that holistic and healthy education of our students includes regular exposure to the outdoors. This approach leads to gross motor development, further enhances social skills outside of the classroom environment and supports real-life connections. Therefore, we provide numerous opportunities for students to be outside each day regardless of the weather.
The SOS Services are designed to support students as they move through the school by addressing their needs in the realms of academic, personal/social, health, career and further education.
Learners are supported to develop insight into personal barriers and develop strategies and skills that will encourage them to become independent learners.
Programmes, structures and interventions are regularly reviewed on their impact to ensure that available support systems are used to the best effect and impact positively on learner achievement.
MSF provides and follows clear procedures for child protection in order to ensure that all members in our school community are safe and protected. During staff induction, all staff members are informed about these processes and must adhere to these at all times.
Since 2000, the German Civil Law declares that children in Germany have the right to a non-violent upbringing. This law states that when employees in the healthcare or educational system notice significant indications for child endangerment, they are required by law to take further action.
All staff members, including support staff, volunteers and external staff working at MSF have to provide a detailed criminal record check (“Erweitertes Führungszeugnis”) before starting work at MSF.
